El Debarge Jr: A lion in the Den (part two)

In the first part of my two-parter  interview with El Debarge Jr, he spoke on his album, thoughts of the music industry today, and the best advice his father has given him.

In part two, We get more clarification on Eldra Jr, the man. His likes, his dislikes, and his love for a big screen TV.

What does a girl have to have in order to impress you?

El Debarge Jr: If I see her first, she has to be sexy and alluring. I am very much drawn to energy and if you're cold, I'll feel it. So be warm and draw me in, that would be impressive. If I hear her first, she has to be witty and playful. I am a Gemini and nothing impresses me more, than a woman's mind. It's a complete turn on.

What's the best gift a woman could get you?

El Jr: Trust and a big a** TV with an entertainment system and DVR of sports and action movies, with a time block of "Stay out my way" time. (Laughs)

Do you prefer au naturel or glammed up?

El Jr: There is a good time for both and I love them the same for different reasons. If I had to choose, I would want a woman that is just as beautiful either way. So that when she wakes up, I am still just as in love as when I took that drink. (Laughs) But I, [like many other men] like a woman with no makeup, in my favorite button up shirt, panties and socks, with the "come get it" look. Call it a wrap.

How would a woman seduce you?

El Jr: (Laughs) Wouldn't that be the day. Allow me to think, because you would have to get pass my artistry of seduction first, which it's a feat in itself. (Pauses) I would say, you would have to challenge me, and be fresh and exciting, passionate, be VERY willing to go wherever I want to take you, because ya boy can get down. And have sex appeal, it's a must.

Would you forgive a cheat, and why?

El Jr: Yes, because we [all] get weak and I have done it. But it's the way you go about it, I would have issues with. A player should never get caught first off, and doing it out of spite to hurt someone is just a bad look to me. I'm weird though, so don't go listening to everything I say. But on the other side of the coin, if you have that someone, it is purely unacceptable. But one must always forgive right?

Complete the following sentences:

I'm secretly terrified of..

El Jr: My Audience and their opinion means a great deal to me. I am scared of them when i'm on stage.

My favorite body part on a woman is..

El Jr: Her butt. Followed by [her] eyes, but you can't grab and.. Never mind. (Laughs)

If I wasn't a musician, I would be..

El Jr: Heartbroken.

My all-time favorite song is..

El Jr: Stay with me by The Debarges

The biggest difference between being sexy on stage and being sexy in the bedroom is...

El Jr: You don't have a bunch of fans around.

Word Association:

Legend.

El Jr: My Father

Love.

El Jr: (Laughs) She would kill me, If I said her name. Lion Queen.

Jungle.

El Jr: Me. (You know Mufasa and all.)

Sexy.

El Jr: (Laughs) Me again. And my "Sexy me" song. Does this means I'm vain?

Eldra.

El Jr: A great name to live up and into.

I hope you enjoy reading this interview as much as I enjoyed doing it. I would like to thank El Jr for allowing me to test drive my interviewing skills on him first. I sincerely appreciate it.

El Debarge Jr: A lion in the Den

Growing up, I listened to a lot of The real classical Artists and Musical Groups. The Jacksons, Tina Turner, Boyz II Men, Immature, to name a few. When I think of family musical groups, I think of two groups in particular. The Jacksons and The Debarges. The Debarges is a family based music group that was found back in the seventies, becoming one of Motown's success stories.

The Group consist of Bunny Debarge, Mark Debarge, Randy Debarge, Eldra Debarge and James Debarge. In 1986, however, both El and Bunny left the group for solo careers. With hits such as, "I like it", "All this love" and "Stay with me", The Debarges became a world reknown sensation.

El Debarge's oldest son, El Debarge Jr follows his father and family's footsteps to Musical Stardom. I recently spoken to El Jr, to get an more in depth look on the man, the son of an legendary singer, descendant of Music Royalty, a Lion in the Den.

How would describe yourself as an artist?

El Debarge Jr: I have always thought of myself as versatile. I have many sides to my artistry, and music is only one part which is a vast part in itself. I enjoy many styles of music from R&B and Hip Hop. I release some music, often to the acoustic and random styles I put together for myself and will release one day when I have good enough songs to do so. I have also been told that I am charismatic and metaphorical, as well as charming (and what not) so I guess, I should throw those in there. (Laughs)

How has your family inspired you, musically?

El Jr: The more music I do, the more their influence becomes evident. I have my own way of showing it, but the influence is strong and prevalent in my sound. I just have this suave, little street edge style about myself, real earthy and melodic. Too many words to describe, but I am not one for self-proclamation. But to be more specific, just being around them, growing up and listening to them record and then the finished product versus the studio process. It has taught me a great deal.

As an secondary generational artist from an highly established musical family, what sets you apart from other second generation artists such as, Austin Brown (son of Rebbie Jackson, nephew of Michael and Janet Jackson), Brandon Howard (son of Miki Howard), Deja Riley (daughter of Teddy Riley), etc?

El Jr: I would have to really research their lives and careers more to truly answer this in depth. However, I have gone though many struggles, trials, and obstacles that your average person had not even seen, let alone a child from a famous music family. My life is not what you would expect, so I keep hearing. But people are quick to accept me for who I am and respect me for the way I go about things. Then again, when you listen to the Greats tell their story, most are of great struggle and triumph over pain. So maybe I'm not so far off.

In your most recent USR (URBAN SOUL RADIO) interview you stated, aside from your family, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and Earth, Wind & Fire are your inspirations. What was it about these Artists that stood out? Inspired you?

El Jr: I love how Marvin [Gaye] was so passionate and the lyrics in his music, is just heartfelt and smooth, while being edgy at the same time. Al Green is the same in those regards, but there is different swag about him. And I enjoyed his music a lot coming up, due to my parents playing him. Earth, Wind & Fire had some of the craziest instrumentals, and the harmonies, runs and notes, that they would pull off. I would just rock for hours. There was a keyboard instrumental I [have] always loved, I forget what album it is on. It's been awhile since I've sat down and listened.

It's been three years since you first released "The Growing" EP. Explain how "The Growing" is different from your current album "Eldra Patrick"?

El Jr: Well, "The Growing" was a compilation that BeatSmith (my partner) and I came up with and wanted to begin our journey [into music] upon. I put a lot of my heart and soul into that, lyrically. And I wanted to give a message with every song, whether it was a warning or a tale. My project "Eldra Patrick", is going to be my debut solo project. [It] will be a collection of efforts on a higher level that I, myself can provide with my own resources. I have recently signed with Rick Sands Entertainment and they are placing me with the best people to help me along, with the team I am currently working with now.

As one of your singles, "Welcome to the Lion's Den" from your upcoming EP. What does the "Lion Den" means to you?

El Jr: Actually that is a great question because, I have decided to release a mixtape called, "The Lion's Den" to give my fans something for being so patient. Plus, I really love the music I have and [I] feels it's a good time to release some of it. So that is a part of what it means to me. It's quickly becoming a large part of my career. It all started on Twitter as you know, with [the] ladies calling me a Lion and what not. Now here we are, naming a mixtape after it. The Lion Den, as I call it, is my timeline on Twitter. (@ElDebargeJr for those who don't know). I call my female followers, Lioness. And I, myself, have been known to be referred to, as Mufasa and Lion King because of my hair and personality.

What is your opinion of the music industry today, in comparison to the makeup of the industry 20 years ago?

El Jr: It has changed drastically due to iTunes, in my opinion. At first, the internet downloading was bad because everyone was burning free CDs and it was all the craze. Then came in iTunes, with the option to buy whichever song you wanted, totally eliminating the need to buy the whole album. Unless you really wanted to support them or love all the songs, or at least enough to pay the full price. Artists used to get away with the mystery of the songs on [their] albums. But now and days, we have leaks and the display of the entire album with the option to pick which song you want. So you better bring it. The audience is extremely fickle and I, myself am part of it. There just aren't many songs that make you want to listen to pass two weeks, because there is an abundance of music as well as most of it, is flighty music.

You have stated you were interested in films, Is there any particular directors and actors you would like to work with?

El Jr: Yes. Steven Spielberg, Will Smith, Jackie Chan, Mila Jovovich, Denzel Washington and many others.

Lady Gaga once stated, "When I'm writing music, I'm thinking about clothes I want to wear on stage." What are you thinking of during your writing sessions?

El Jr: I am mostly thinking of the story, I am trying to create a picture of. I like to imagine a person listening to my music and their reaction to it. If I enjoy that reaction, then I will continue on that.

What advice has your father given you about music and life in general?

El Jr: Through out my life, my Father has shown me things through just having me around him. He was real big on letting me find myself, back in those times. I remember him sitting down with me, explaining how his brother Bobby would make him do things on his own and that made him who he is. He would give me a little but and expect me to do the rest on my own, which I did. Little tips on vocals, women, keyboards, writing, and life in general. I pieced it all together, and live accordingly. Pops always said, "If you got it, then you got it. And son, it's in your blood. Your flesh of my flesh and blood of my blood. My first born son and my namesake." That is the biggest advice he has given me.

Look out for part two of my interview with El Debarge Jr tomorrow, where we speak on love, how can a woman seduce him, and can he forgive a cheating partner.

Parker Music Revolution: The beginning of a Dynasty

**Originally posted November 26, 2011**

Parker Music Revolution: The beginning of a Dynasty

Who is Kelly Parker?

Some may know her as the sister of Tommy Parker, 1/3 of the music group BackPack Kids, but do you KNOW her? A self-proclaimed Musician and Lyricist, Kelly has made a name for herself in more than one way on more than one occasion.

Coming from a musical family, Kelly has written music through out her childhood which led up to a position as a songwriter under many labels such as; Under Dog Entertainment, Darkchild Entertainment, MBK Entertainment, and her own publishing company, Parker Music Group.

Working with the likes of Lazonate Franklin, Mickey Shiloh and plenty of others, Kelly has set a mission to create music that spreads love throughout the world. Being married to her music, Kelly opens up about her influences, what it's like working with her brother, her thoughts on censorship in music and what to expect from her as an Musician.

How do you describe yourself as an artist?

Kelly Parker: Well, I wouldn't consider myself an artist per say, I am more of an Musician/Lyricist. I have been writing songs with my brother as long as I can remember. We come from a family that does a lot of singing, dancing in the house all (and I do mean ALL) the time. (Laughs) I enjoy singing and releasing on paper, but that is as far as I'd like to go for now.

Who is "Parker Music Group"?

KP: "Parker Music Group" is the former name of my Music Publishing Company, Tommy and I started back in 2007.

What is it like working with your brother, Tommy?

KP: I can honestly say it's the best! We've been best friends always, so the music is just second nature to us, really.

Who are your influences and why?

KP: WOW! That's a good one. There are just too many to narrow down to a few. Music, I would have to say is my influence over all. But if I had to go to my last concert on Earth, I would like the line up to be: Ella Fitzgerald; because she has an angelic voice, Marvin Gaye; because he is so poetic and smooth, Jay-z; because he is one of the greatest rappers, and the Headliner Michael Jackson; because he is music.

Do you play any instruments?

KP: I would have to say my vocals is my instrument right now. Though I am very interested in learning how to play the guitar. I mess around with it, but nothing I will show in public yet. (wink)

What inspires you to do what you do as a Musician?

KP: Honestly, the world around me. I draw inspiration from everything- even as simple as the way the petals blossom in spring, or the way dew creeps off the asphalt in the morning. All of these beautiful things creates my songs.

What can the audience expect from Kelly Parker, the musician?

KP: Hmm.. Well as far as my music goes, the world can look out for a few projects I am working on; of course the wonderfully talented Austin Brown, "4 Counts" Sonny Penderson, and MBK's lovely Artist Daisha.
Please check her out performing my single, "Top Blow" which is being featured in the up-coming Focus feature film, "Pariah". Hopefully, we'll have a surprise from Prince Parker "2012"- let's keep our fingers crossed. (Smiles)

How do you feel about the music industry towards the female artist base?

KP: I feel that the industry is in desperate need of a makeover on so many levels. Female artistry would be just the beginning. That being said, for Music versus Entertainment, it is inevitable if you're not in it for the love of music above all else, you will not last. Music expands, it never stays the same. The problem with Artists, primarily Female Artists, there is not enough change. Not enough versatility; in my opinion.

On censorship:

"To an extent it is appropriate, but you must be aware of crossing that line in interfering with artist expression."

On Working with Lazonate Franklin:

"Well, I actually have only had the pleasure of writing with Ms. Franklin once. It was quite unorthodox. Something quick, on the phone. (Laughs) Lazonate is actually a friend of mines, she is a beautiful woman with an amazing talent. "Telephone" is still on my workout playlist."

Saddest song:

"Hands down, "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday. I can't even listen to that song, it always makes me cry."

On Celebrity Crushes:

"Hmm.. I think Lupe Fiasco is a real cutie..and I'm sorry Beyonce, but Jay is oh so fine, Just saying. I mean, a girl can look. (Smiles)"

In reference to the recent breakup between Kim Kardashian and her husband Kris Humphries, how long do you believe you should date before getting married?

KP: Well, I don't believe you should put a time frame on love. But at least, date him long enough to know his last name and if he sleeps with a cat or something. (Laughs)

Complete the sentence:

I think it's sexy when a guy..

"Makes me smile without trying."

You can follow Kelly Parker on twitter at KParkermusic.

**I would like to personally thank Kelly for her time to do this interview. This is a two parter, featuring Tommy parker which will be temporarily delayed intil further notice.**

Traditional thinking: Are you a victim?

This Blog post was originally posted October 27, 2011.

"I will spark a generation of thinkers who will question traditional thought until they find the absolute truth."

                                  -Kanye West

What does this quote mean to you?

Traditional thought. Absolute truth.

Traditional thinking has always been known for "playing things safely". Or to stay within your boundaries, to do things in accordance of a common way. What did kanye mean by, sparking a generation of thinkers to question traditional thinking?

If most people are comfortable with traditions, why question it? Why question anything that has been done so many times before? Why CHANGE things?

A traditional subject can be flexible as long as no alternatives are voiced. To question traditional thought, would mean to think and to act against all odds. To do the unimaginable, the unthinkable, the crazy, the different, the weird and insane. To do what most would fear against to find the absolute truth.

A truth that can not be altered. A permanent fact. So WHAT was Kanye talking about when he said, "absolute truth"? The undeniable truth about what? Music? Fashion? The government? What does Kanye want us to know? The majority of the time the "absolute truth" that is to be sought out, is for religious purposes. Is there a God? Did jesus truly exist?

Did he really walk the earth, the same as us? Is there really a Heaven and Hell? What is this absolute truth, Kanye wanted us to seek out? Or is it less complex? How about if I told you that the quote above is only a part of something much bigger? An email ALLEGEDLY sent to Blogger Perez Hilton from Kanye, himself:

"I'VE BEEN ATTACKED FOR BEING ME... FOR BEING BRIGHT RED IN A GREY WORLD.THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO THRIVES ON THE DOWNFALL OF OTHERS FOR I WILL NOT FALL!!! YOUR PESSIMISM IS MY POWER. YOUR PRESUMPTIONS LEADS TO MY REDEMPTIONS. I DON'T LIKE THE OBVIOUS... I LIKE THE TENSION... I LIVE FOR THE FIGHT... I FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY DON'T THINK FOR THEMSELVES BUT MERELY BASE THEIR OPINIONS ON WHAT THEY WERE TAUGHT.I AM A SOLDIER OF FREE THOUGHT IN A CLOSED MINDED WORLD AND I AM READY FOR WAR.I WILL SPARK A GENERATION OF THINKERS WHO WILL QUESTION TRADITIONAL THOUGHT UNTIL THEY FIND THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH."

So, apparently the above quote isn't about anything really complex or hard to understand. It's about kanye, himself. But does that make it less true? Kanye West has always been labeled as, "different", an "Lyrical Genius" even. But again, it brings me to two questions:

1. What does this quote mean to you?

2. What is this absolute truth, Kanye want us to seek out? Are you a soldier of free thought as well? Or someone who merely base their opinion on what they were taught?

Stop the hate: Find your self worth.

I wanted to started off this blog post with a question and as a woman I know all women have been through this throughout their lives. And my question is, "Have you ever met a woman that constantly competes with every single thing that you do?" Now I know that all the women that are reading this, is unanimously agreeing that, yes they have met a woman who fits that description. Now the real question is, "why"?

If a woman is happy with herself, she's successful, she is smart, beautiful, talented and loved, why would this same woman take the time out in the world to attack another woman? Now I have to open up a topic that is probably not the most easy topic that there is to talk about in the African American community, but I want to direct this issue of black on black hate between women. I am a light skin black woman. I am a third Irish American (my maternal grandfather), I am native American (which if you come to think of it, all black people have a little Indian in their gene pool) and of course African American. I am not ashamed of my heritage, I am more than proud of who I am.

As a child, I went through puberty wanting to be someone else, to look like someone else. I was a lanky built, light skin black girl, auburn red hair and freckles. I was awkward and tall and very skinny. I stood out. And girls would pick on me because I looked different from them. Thirteen years later, I still get taunted and harassed by different women just because I am different. But there are some things that have changed. The first thing is that it's all online. The social media accounts. Now there are different names for them but I like to call them, "internet thugs". And secondly, they don't just taunt by calling you names and talking bad about you, they go as far as emulate everything that they see you do. Crazy, huh?

I wouldn't dream of going into details of every single woman I have been through this with, because I would be typing this post all day and ain't no body got the time for that. But in all of my young adolescent years, I have never been through so much drama and bitchassness than I have with one particular girl. This is my story. I have been through the absolute ringer with this girl, and she has made it very clear that she was out to hurt me. It wasn't about redemption, it wasn't about being justified. It was out of pure hatred towards me. I could and would never understand why a woman who is suppose to be so straight in her life, take the time out to sit behind a computer and write a blog that spoke nothing of me but EVERYTHING about her. Yes, the blog was addressed to someone else about me, but the whole message behind it, said so much about her. Her behavior, her feelings towards herself, and her mental State.

How could you let a woman have that much affect on your life that you would take the time of the day to bash her (or tried to) in front of people she cares about? I bring this up because this is what I mean by black women hating on the next black woman. It is such a ugly trait that has been instil in US since the days of slavery. When the beautiful women were chosen to clean the homes and have children by the slave masters and women that they believed were not as beautiful kept to the field. Things have not change between us as black women. It just evolved to much more ignorant reasons. Reasons that had nothing to do with the next woman but EVERYTHING to do with the woman dishing out the hatred.

My mother has never raised me to not speak my mind. She has always taught me to say what I mean, and to mean what I say. She has taught me to never under any circumstances let anyone dictate to how I feel. "Speak your mind". I am tired of fighting with women who are unhappy with themselves. I am tired of fighting with women who are going to dislike you because you are different, because you don't think like them and you don't act like them. It is a time for a change. But the change starts within you. A person can decide that they want to go out into their community and clean the grounds, plant flowers and make that world a better place, but unless you work on the inside, the people that lives in the community, it will always be more harm than good.

I have been envious of women before. And although envy is one of the seven deadly sins next to Lust, which is a entirely different post, we all have been envious of someone. However, I don't turn my envy into hatred. I turn my envy into motivation. I motivate to have my own. For example, Have you ever been around a woman who had started off by saying, "Look at her with those wack ass shoes. Bitch be trying it." And then within a couple of weeks, she is speaking of the same woman but now she is a bitch. A hoe. A this. A that. And then you hear that famous line, "I hate her ass." That's turning envy into hatred. Instead of you taking the time to list out all the great and beautiful things you already have in your life, you start hating on the next woman. So busy looking at someone else's plate and not taking on appreciation for what is on your own. And I am not saying this is only big in the African American community, what I am saying is as a black woman it is very big among us as women, and I have been on the receiving end of it for too long.

I believe that when women find something that they love about themselves and they know they are a crowned jewels, that there is no one out there that is like them, they are content. Women who are completely in love with themselves, I commend you. You are happy with what you have, who you have in your life, you are at peace with yourself and you attract more of those great things into your life. Why wouldn't that be something to reach out to have? Internal peace and serenity.

If you never appreciate what you have in your life as is, why reach down in your heart and hate on the next woman that do? If you are a believer of God, then you should understand that no matter what you try to do to the next woman by being vindictive and hateful, what is meant for her will always be for her, because it was given to her by the almighty. Victims of Rumors and lies are always vindicated.

I leave this post with a video from a woman whose work I absolutely cherish, her name is Lisa Nichols and she is a spiritual guru. You may have seen her on Oprah, the movie The Secret and several other outlet talk shows. When I was feeling low one day, I went to find something to help build me up. I was sad and I needed something to help lift my spirits to make me feel good about myself again and i started looking up guided meditation tapes on YouTube. I ran across one of Lisa's entitled, "Discovering your worthiness". And I started to feel better just by reading the description. She talks about what you are worthy of, and she helps you to realize that just like the next woman you are worthy of what she has too. I highly recommend for you all to listen to it. And just accept what she says into your heart. Know that you are just as great as the next woman and STOP HATING. Hating don't hurt them. It hurts you.

Thank you for reading.

Being a Hooligan: What I have learned about Peter Hernandez

As many of my followers on Twitter and friends on Facebook may have come to realize that as of lately I definitely joined the bandwagon of the one fierce Mr. Bruno Mars. Now maybe you're one of the 115 million viewers who watched his halftime performance this past Super bowl. If not, dude.... you are missing pure gold.

Bruno Mars Super amazing Halftime performance. (Watch here)

So I've been a Hooligan for about a month now and it's like being the new kid transferred to a new school. Yeah, it's just a fan base but it's the unity between the fans that can make it fun and not so fun. Although Bruno has been circulating in the industry for several years now, it wasn't until his tribute to the late Amy Winehouse that made me give his music a second listen.

When I first heard "Grenade", I didn't like it. It wasn't the music or his voice I didn't like. It was the objective of the song. I couldn't comprehend how and why a good looking guy like himself would allow a woman to put him though the ringer like that. All in the name of love. I mean I suppose if you look at the poetic standpoint of it, "I would do anything to profess my love to you. I would catch a live grenade, put my hand on a blade. Even jump in front of a train to prove my love and loyalty to you." Okay, maybe in the Shakespearean Era that would gain you a key to my chastity belt, but in this day and age I probably would be just a bit concerned over both of our safety.

So being a Hooligan of the last couple of days, I've learned there is a division in the fan base. There is one half that likes Jessica Caban (Mars' girlfriend of three years) and the other half well they really give her a hard time. And although I am in between of it all, I am not a die-hard fan of Jessica's but I don't hate her. And I don't understand why so many do. Jessica reigns from NYC like myself which was a plus for me. I'll cheer for you hell over high waters if you're from New York. Two, she was the first winner of Model Latina. Which means she made history. (Whether you see it for what it is or not.) And Three, she's dating Bruno Mars. Now I did try to research any possible movie roles that she could be working on in the most recent months but to no avail. In one interview, Jessica was billed as a Dancer, model and actress. So with only the intention of pure curiosity, I went to look up any possible videos of Jessica dancing, which again ended up fruitless. Jessica is a pretty face, and she has a hot body and she has one of the biggest recording artists of Modern music as a boyfriend, maybe she doesn't need to pursue her career anymore. Maybe she is ready to settle down and start making miniature versions of Peters and Jessicas. Who really knows? But I will be watching.

I have never been a part of a fan base that the fans prefer for the artist to go back to their ex's. Not to say it has never happened, I've just never been a part of that. Now again, I wasn't a Hooligan when Bruno and Chanel Malvar was dating but I do remember bits and pieces of their relationship that was exposed to the media. Chanel is a young entrepreneur of different forums. A dancer, a model, a actress. (Kinda like Jessica.) And she seems to not only be very well level headed but funny and feisty as well. One song on Mars' unorthodox Jukebox album entitled "when I was your man" is believed to be about Malvar and his relationship with her.

" It all just sounds like oooooh
Mmm, too young, too dumb to realize
That I should've bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should've gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party
'Cause all you wanted to do was dance
Now my baby's dancing
But she's dancing with another man

My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways
Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life
Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, ohh
And it haunts me every time I close my eyes"

It was never confirmed whether or not this song is in fact about their relationship, but reading between the lines does makes you wonder.

I have met a couple of awesome people since I have became a fan of his. Some good and some really great. The fans love to listen to his music, watch his videos and watch him on TV. They love to talk about his performances, their attraction to him, and things of that nature. He has inspired so many and they aren't shy to tell him so. He has went through so many obstacles from being dropped by a major label to losing his devoted mother last summer. Challenges that made him a success story for many years to come. Performing at small venues with a small group of people to performing in front of millions of people live during the super bowl halftime show.

A true artist's work can not be altered, destroyed or tampered with. What is art is art. And it can not changed by anyone. I believe Bruno has a amazing talent in songwriting. There isn't one song of his that doesn't carry that strong gene of definition, a meaning. He writes to all of us, so we all can understand and grip with the emotions that are being convey through his music. Either you are happy, sad, in love, or just simply horny. He has a talent for it and I am proud to witness it firsthand.

What's your purpose in life?

I believe that everyone has a dream that they hold onto with such unwavering commitment and faith. As a child, when we wanted something badly enough, whether it was roller blades, a bike, or a new videogame system, we held onto that image, that vision of receiving that of what we want. When you were in elementary school, our teachers would ask you, "would you like to be when you grow up?" Students would throw their hands high in the air, shouting out, "a teacher, a doctor, an police officer, a lawyer." As a child, there were no limitations when it came to our imagination. What we wanted, we received. A boy grows up with a passion to play football and concentrates on the idea of playing football in front of all to see. To grow up and become Peyton and Eli Manning. A young girl would grow up wanting to wear her mother's dresses and shoes. To buy fashion magazines, learning the names of different fashion houses and study her posture in the mirror, only to grow up and become a famous international model like Naomi Campbell, Iman, and Tyra Banks.

As a child, we all have this idea of being something great. Farther than great, most exceptional. We wanted to be the best and greatest in whatever it is that we had chosen to be at that time. When I was about nine years old, I wanted to be a lawyer. I wanted to be a lawyer because I wanted to be known for helping set innocent people free. Of course, I didn't completely understand the grip of being an attorney, but I knew that I wanted to help people. And in every of career choice I have experiment with in the last 18 years, my goal was to always HELP PEOPLE. Help others who were in trouble or needed guidance.

I've decided to follow into the career of public relations for one simple reason. I love to talk. Lol If anyone knows me, they know that I do love to talk. Over the phone, online, in person. I am always glue to my phone talking to someone long distance and internationally. It took me a long time to come to really understand why this career path was the right one for me. I love to read. I Read foreign books, self development books, novels, and gossip columns. I love to write. Short stories (that I have no intentions on ever releasing), poems, blogs (such as this one here).

I understand that with most career goals, there comes a lot of hard work, commitment, and the motivational push of continuously staying persistent, consistent and prayed up. Nothing will ever completely fall into plan without a understanding and relationship with the higher being. Whether it's God, Allah, Buddha, the Dalai Lama or The Universe. You need to have a form of gratification with the higher being for putting this life purpose in you.

There are some people who (like myself) had/have a hard time discovering what their life purpose is. And It actually turned out to be quite simple. To find out what your purpose in life is, all you have to do is calm your mind, calm your spirits and think. Think about the one thing (the one sole thing) you can not go without doing. Think about the one thing you would do completely free. No salary, no fee, no money. No fame! No fortune! No notoriety, and still live happily and content. Think of that one thing that makes you feel this unbelievably good sensation, this feeling that can not be explained, that feeling that makes you feel like the whole universe is inside of you. And That is your purpose in life. That is what you were born to do.

In the bible it says, Habakkuk 2:3
" For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay."

In the Buddhism beliefs,
" Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it."

No matter what your religious beliefs are, your bible is your manual to every possible thing you will come face with until the day you die. Every thing you deal with in your lifetime, has been dealt with and solved many, many years ago. Finding your life purpose is one of the most liberating thing you could possibly encounter. It puts you in a space where you can now start achieving wonderful things in your lifetime.

** LAST MINUTE THOUGHT**
As you discover your life purpose and you go into a intense session of brainstorming, you may want to take under consideration one thing. How will this life purpose lead your life til the very end?

I know many people dread the thought of dying one day. The thought of death frightens them. I was reading a E-Book on how to create a life plan. And as I was reading this book one of the habits that was shared was "to plan your life backwards." Yes, plan your life backwards. And the very last thing that you will EVER have control over is what people will say and think about you at your funeral.
Think about it. Have you ever been to a funeral where there is one person just speaking so ILL about the deceased?
"He owed me money." "I heard she was sleeping around with many men." "I am happy they are dead, I didn't like them anyway." Don't be too shock. There are people that do say things like this at funerals. But then, you have funerals where people speaks so greatly of them, their accomplishments in life, the way they loved their families, their children, their spouse. How they respected every one that they have met. And how they will be greatly missed. Think about the things you will want to be remembered by when it is your time to go.

Peace.
